UN Aid Chief Warns of “Desperate, Desperate” Crisis After Darfur Displacement Camp Visit | APT

UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher visited displacement camps in Tawila, Korma, and Darfur on November 14–16, meeting survivors who fled al-Fashir after months of siege, shelling, and reported mass atrocities.<br /><br />Women who escaped described drones overhead, blocked water and food routes, and widespread violence: “If you went to the market, your child would not come back.”<br /><br />Fletcher called the conditions “desperate, desperate” and urged the international community to respond immediately.
